3H Care provides authorized chore services across Minnesota to help people and their primary caregivers maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and well-maintained home environment.
What chore services can include
Minnesota chore services can cover a range of household and property tasks when they are part of an authorized support plan. The exact tasks, frequency and funding depend on the person’s program, assessed needs and service authorization.
Support may include heavier cleaning needs such as washing floors, windows or walls, securing loose rugs and other tasks that help maintain a clean and safe home.
Chore services are different from routine homemaking and should not duplicate another authorized service.
Authorized chore services may include general home maintenance and outdoor tasks such as lawn care or snow removal when those responsibilities are not covered by a landlord or lease.
Specific maintenance tasks depend on authorization, safety considerations and provider availability.
Large household items or appliances may be moved or removed when needed to create safe access to and from the home, and furnishings may be rearranged or secured to reduce injury or fall risks.
This does not include moving a person’s belongings to a new residence.
Chore services may cover reasonable pest-control treatments needed to alleviate a pest problem when the service is authorized and is not the responsibility of a landlord or another party.
Authorized support can include dumpster rental or refuse disposal, packing belongings, and practical household organization tasks that help maintain a sanitary and safe environment.
Minnesota policy can allow grocery-delivery charges within chore services when the delivered groceries represent the majority of the person’s grocery needs for at least seven days.
3H Care can review the requested service and authorization with the person’s care team.
Chore vs. homemaking
3H Care offers both chore services and homemaking, but they are not interchangeable. Chore services generally address heavier, occasional or property-related tasks, while homemaking focuses more on routine household support and home-management activities.
Minnesota does not allow the same need or task to be paid for twice. When both services are authorized, the support plan should clearly distinguish what each service is intended to cover.

Eligibility and authorization vary by Minnesota program. A lead agency or care team identifies the need and authorizes eligible chore services; 3H Care then reviews the requested tasks, location and service availability.
The person, caregiver and care team identify household or property tasks that affect safety and community living.

Once the required information is in place, we coordinate authorized chore support with the person and care team.
